You could spend a week and not run out of things to do in Glacier National Park.

Glacier National Park is a natural vacation destination for anyone seeking to expand their experience of life through the ultimate outdoor experience. Known to the Blackfeet tribal nation as the 'backbone of the world', with its soaring peaks and acres of wilderness and influenced by George Grinnell and the arrival of James J. Hill's Great Northern Railway, Glacier was formally designated a National Park in 1910 with the mission 'to preserve and protect natural and cultural resources'.  The lodges built by Hill to ensure his visitors a first class experience remain in use for those seeking the same solitude and natural beauty as visitors experienced 100 years ago.

In the Summer months, the biggest attraction is the Going-to-the-Sun Road, a 53 mile long scenic drive that lets you take in the beauty of the Park from the comfort of your own vehicle and makes Glacier a destination for individuals of all ages and abilities.  There are hikes to suit too, from the wheelchair accessible boardwalk of the Trail of the Cedars to overnight backcountry excursions and everything in between.  To enhance your experience, take advantage of the many campsites dotted throughout the Park, learn about Park issues at the Ranger Stations, or get involved in a Ranger-led activity.

There are also opportunities for guided hikes, boat tours and horseback riding or why not try an interpretive tour in one of the original Red Jammer buses!

Even when the Going-to-the-Sun Road closes at higher elevations due to weather conditions, the Park remains open and is regularly plowed along the first ten miles enabling visitors the chance of a year-round experience.  The beautiful colors of Fall reflected in the glassy lakes is not to be missed, neither the moonlight snowshoeing and glittering snowscapes of Winter months.
